This is a place I can't wait to take my wife to

It's lake Tahoe, but specifically, this area is on the western shore and it's called Emerald Bay. Not sure if you can see it, but there is a "Vikings Castle" on that little island you can see out there. A boat will take you out to the island and you can tour the old castle. I'm pretty sure real vikings didn't build it, but it's an older, authentic castle that someone built a long time ago.

Lake Tahoe is a beautiful place to visit with so much to do.

    waterskiing? I'm sold!

  2. I love it there! And Alene will surely love it also. Definitely a summer trip though, and waterskiing will be possible with a wet suit most likely. Even in July the water can get pretty chilly-

  3. hey and ty- the way i heard it was that a wealthy old woman had the castle built a long time ago to have dinner parties at- dont know if it is true- but the "tale" that i heard anyways-

  4. The castle is not actually on the Island, its right below where that picture is shot (I have a picture of the castle if you want it). The thing on top of the Island is a tea room the Lady had built for her guests. The story is actually pretty interesting. Take the dinner cruise out of South Lake Tahoe into Emerald bay and they will tell you the whole story.
